Owl Creek is an artisanal family winery focused on the production of wines grown in the Shawnee Hills region of Southern Illinois. Owl Creek began in 1980 when founder Ted Wichmann planted the first commercial winegrape vineyard in the region. In 2005, Brad Genung and family took over production of the wines. Owl Creek focuses on growing, producing and educating people about their wines.
Owl Creek’s tasting room emphasizes offers a tasting experience that combines education and hospitality. Owl Creek’s tasting room offers a limited food menu and local musicians filling the air with bluegrass and folk tunes on the weekends.
